2003 NEWS

* Cellular news *

Director David Ellis talks

David Ellis’s second feature film, after directing Final Destination 2, will be Cellular, a thriller about a kid who picks up a cell phone and finds a kidnapped woman on the other end. He has until the cell phone batter runs out to find her.

Kim Basinger will play the woman, and Ellis answers a few more questions about the project. Do you have a kid for the movie?
Chris Evans, hopefully. [Also] Bill Macy and Jason Statham. It’s going to be good.

What do you think of the comparison to Phone Booth?
The same writer, but much better because we’re not stuck in a phone booth. It’s kind of like Speed.

Where does the adventure take them?
All around L.A.

Cellular goes into production this summer for a Spring 2004 release.
